Hand-crafted custom doors in Bentonville, Fayetteville and beyond

Handmade in the Ozarks

At Ozark Custom Door Company we are passionate about crafting handmade custom doors that exemplify your personal style and will last you for years to come. Our ultimate goal is that the doors we build will stand the test of time to become a timeless treasure for you and your family to enjoy.

We Use Solid Wood

We choose to use solid wood because of its higher quality and durability. See below for more information on the differences between veneered and solid.

The Process of Building Our Handmade Doors

01

Wood

We only use solid wood, never veneered or pressed wood. We select straight grain for better stability and ensure the wood is dried and acclimated before use.

02

Build

We use mortise and floating tenon joinery for our rail and stile glue joints, and use 45 degree joints for our inner framing to allow more surface area for glue.  Our panels are never glued in so they “float” ensuring they never split.

03

Finish

We use two coats of a sanding sealer to fill the grain and ensure our topcoat adheres very nicely.  We then apply two coats of UV spar varnish to make the door as weather ready as possible.  The finish is waterproof and has a high UV rating.

04

Final Setup and Delivery

Once the finish has cured for two weeks, we set the in/out swing of the door, route for hinges, and bore holes for knob and deadbolt. We box up our doors and send them on their way; sometimes we deliver ourselves! We also offer a local pickup option.

Beautiful door and EXTREMELY helpful and wonderful people to work with. Tyler, Mark and team were always there taking the extra step to communicate with me and make everything right. With this being such a large purchase, it was really nice to have them there for me throughout the whole process start to finish. Thank you so much for my dream door!!

Can’t wait to see it installed. Picture to follow. And my mom is jealous so she may be ordering one also! He did a fantastic job!!!

Amazing door. We had a little trouble putting in up due to old house not being square but once we figured that out it was perfect. All the dimensions were perfect. I would highly recommend this door and builder. Very responsive with any questions. Thanks again. Will purchase again if I need a amazing front door

Veneer

Veneer is technically a thin layer or skin of hardwood, usually thinner than 1/8 of an inch. Typically, veneer is bonded, or glued with adhesive, to a cheaper surface that is hidden below. Many doors will have a pine core and then a thin layer of veneer. These doors are usually very light and carry a low fire retardant rating. Additionally, veneered doors can rarely be repaired and usually must be replaced if an issue arises. The advantage to veneered is that it’s very cheap and allows makers to design pieces at a much lower cost.

Solid Wood

Solid Wood is exactly how it sounds. Completely solid wood. Solid wood can be sanded, stained, varnished, treated, painted and offers far more customization than veneered. Hardwood, or solid wood, doors are also much heavier, more durable and provide a much better fire rating. We love the look and feel of solid wood and believe this is the best choice when it comes to woodworking and door-making.
