WOOD DEFECTS
Everything we build is 100% hardwood with zero lamination. We buy our lumber milled and kiln-dried in two-inch thick stock. The wood naturally has defects like waning and knots; these are characteristics that we try to cut out of the stock before use. The knots are filled with a dyed epoxy so the knot will be flat and strong. We will not build a door out of lumber that we know will cause issues down the road. If the defect forms after we ship the door, call us; we will do what is necessary to fix the issue so that you are satisfied with your door.
SHIPPING DAMAGE
If damage occurs during shipping, it is nearly always repairable to the point of invisibility because the product is made of real hardwood. We will cover the costs to have the door repaired in your area. In rare cases, the damage is beyond quality repair and we will replace your door. This is a case-by-case warranty so call or email us and send photos. We work hard to use shippers we trust to avoid this from happening.
WARPING
We will never send a door that shows signs of warping; however, that does not mean it never will. We give a one-year warranty on warping beyond ⅛ of an inch. If the door is warped less than that, the seal and operation integrity will not be affected. After a year of stability, the door will likely never warp. Refinishing the door may be necessary every five years if your door sees direct sunlight and weather. Refinishing a weathered door will help to maintain its stability. DIY installation will not be covered under our warranty.
Unfinished Door
We urge customers to allow us to apply the finish on the door before we ship in order to maintain correct dryness in the wood; however, some customers want to finish their door on site. In these cases, we cannot guarantee door stability and will not be able to warranty any warping issues.
Custom door
Custom doors cannot be returned due to the nature of the custom build. We will offer the same warranty as a standard door, and if the door is damaged, it will be repaired or rebuilt. This is a case by case situation.
Incorrect Door Received
If the door you receive does not match your order detail confirmation, we will replace your door. Our shipper will pick up your incorrect door whenever your corrected door arrives. If the customer provides incorrect information for the build, this warranty does not apply. We do our best to guide customers in door measurements and swing to avoid this from occurring.
Restocking fee
There is a $500 restocking fee plus a $300 return shipping fee if you choose to return your door; custom doors are non-refundable, however, the warranty still applies.
